Peak Climbing in Nepal
Mountaineering in Nepal is the ultimate adventure for those seeking a challenging and rewarding experience in the Himalayas. The country is home to eight of the world's 14 highest peaks, including Mount Everest, and offers a variety of climbing opportunities for both novice and experienced climbers. Whether you are looking to scale the highest peak in the world or tackle one of the many lower peaks, Nepal has something to offer.
Peak climbing, also known as mountaineering, involves ascending a mountain above 6,000 meters. In Nepal, there are 18 peaks above this elevation that are open for climbing, known as "trekking peaks." These peaks offer a range of difficulty levels, from non-technical climbs that can be completed by reasonably fit individuals to more challenging ascents that require technical climbing skills.
The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) is responsible for issuing permits for trekking peaks in Nepal, and it is required that all climbers have a guide. The royalty for trekking peaks ranges from $70 to $250 per person, depending on the season and the specific peak. The permission is valid for a period of one month, and additional fees may be charged for extensions.
At Across Himalaya, we pride ourselves on providing experienced and qualified climbing guides who have a proven track record of success in the Himalayas. We prioritize your safety and success, and we will work with you to customize a mountaineering itinerary that meets your needs and goals. Our goal is to provide you with the best possible experience while also offering competitive pricing. We look forward to helping you realize your dream of standing atop a Himalayan peak.
