Arun River Rafting

The powerful Arun River is a 70km journey that takes 5-6 days to complete. The return journey from Chatara, the take-out point, takes 14-16 hours to reach Kathmandu. The strong current and large water volume of the Arun River ensure that huge and impressive rapids are encountered throughout the journey. The trip from Bumling to the end of the river makes for an excellent 5-6 day river trip and a 3-day wilderness trip, providing a total of 9 days on the river.

Most of the rapids on the Arun River are challenging and technically class IV-V, making it a thrilling and exhilarating experience for experienced rafters. However, the beauty of the Arun River also makes it a great choice for those who are new to rafting and looking for an introduction to the sport. The pristine canyons of the Arun River add to the beauty of the journey, making it an unforgettable experience for all who undertake it. This trip can be done with a one-way flight to Tumlingtar to reach the starting point of the river, although this does make it a bit more expensive. Regardless of your level of experience, the Arun River is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in rafting in Nepal.
