The popular place in Nubra valley trekking is Shyok River which flows parallel to the Indus on the northern side of the Ladakh range. Nubra valley is also known as the gateway of the Siachen Glacier. It is very panoramic place that’s why it often referred to as the "Orchard of Ladakh". It lies bordered by the Karakoram Range and Pass in the North. In Ladakh the meaning of the Nubra valley is Ldumra, which means ‘the valley of flowers’. The valley situated in the north of Leh (the capital of Ladakh). Nubra valley has various attraction palaces. The main attraction in this area is Bactarian Camels (Shaggy double hump Camel) around sand dunes, Deskit & Samstanling monasteries and Khardung la Pass.
Buddhist monasteries flourished in the valley among which the famous Diskit Gompa. The Gompa, over 350 years old, is the oldest in the Nubra region. It is also one of the largest monastery in Ladakh. The Nubra valley is accessible from Leh via a number of high passes. Khardong-la is the highest motorable pass at 5600 m. in this trek. This trip will be one of the unforgettable trips of you.
Day 01: Arrive - Leh (Delhi to Leh) Early morning transfer to Domestic Airport to connect the flight for Leh. Upon arrival at Leh Airport our representative would assist you at the Airport and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Leh - Shey - Thiksey - Hemis On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries in this area.
Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17'Th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.
Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order.
Hemis, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17'Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by streams and fronted by long Mani walls / overnight stay at the guest house.
Day 03: Leh - Sabu Village (3480 mts) After breakfast drive Sabu Village / overnight stay in village
Day 04: Sabu Village - Digar La Pass After breakfast trek to cross Digar La (6000 mts) then descend down to Digar Village / overnight stay in village
Day 05: Digar Village - Agyam Village In the morning trek to Agyam. The treks go through along the river Shyok. On arrival set out camp for overnight stay at Agyam village / overnight stay at village.
Day 06: Agyam village - Khalsar Village In the morning you will trek up to khalsar village / overnight stay in village.
Day 07: Khalsar Village - Diskit After breakfast trek to Sumur. Visit to Samtenling Gompa and continue trek to Diskit. Visit to 350 year old Diskit Gompa / overnight stay at Diskit.
Day 08: Diskit - Leh In the morning drive back to Leh. Evening free to explore the local market / overnight stay at Hotel
Day 09: Leh – Delhi Transfer to the Airport to catch the flight for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi we as assist you to check in at our Hotel. Later in the afternoon we depart for Delhi sightseeing that includes Humayun'Tomb, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar.
