Marshyangdi River Rafting
The Marsyangdi River, also known as the "raging river," drains the northern slope of the Annapurna Mountains and was only opened to rafting in 1996. It offers some of the most exciting class IV-V white water in Nepal and requires 100% commitment from both the crew and the guide. Unlike big volume rivers like the Sun Koshi and Karnali, the Marsyangdi's rapids are technical and require a different approach. While big volume rivers require power and a good line, the Marsyangdi demands fast reactions from the crew to navigate its rapids.
The Marsyangdi quickly forges rafting crews of complete strangers into true teams. Located on the eastern side of the Annapurna circuit, the Marsyangdi River is famous for its beautiful views. With each twist and turn, the steep-sided gorge walls frame a new mountain backdrop. The Marsyangdi River offers 52km of boiling foam sandwiched between towering peaks as it flows through the gorges of Annapurna.
