Helambu Valley Trekking

Helambu valley (3430m) is very famous for its natural beauty, scenic grandeur and pleasant climate magnificent view of snow-covering mountains, summits, peaks so on. It is a week trek and will pass Mountain View point, alpine meadows and Buddhist villages which are situated about 72km northeast of Kathmandu the area covers typical highland Sherpa villages along with beautiful Rhododendron forests and enchanting landscape. The Helambu trek is usually begins from Sundarijal and going to end on Melamchi bazaar.

Helambu valley trekking features attraction are  magnificent Himalayan panorama particularly of the Ganesh himal massif, Everest Himalayan range, Langtang Gyen Lhudup (7246m), Dorjee Lakapa (6966m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Choba Bhamare (6109m), purbi Khyachu, Sisapangma and some of peaks, summits etc. It is also interesting visible several domesticated animals, wild animals and birds such as languor, musk deer and colorful Daphne.

Itinerary of Helambhu Valley Trekking

Day 01: Pick up from the kathmandu TIA airport and transfer to the Hotel:

Day 02: City Sightseeing day (1345).
Full day Katmandu valley sightseeing (Katmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Katmandu Durbar square)

Day 03: Kathmandu - Chisa pani (2300m.)
On fresh morning after breakfast we drive toward the Sundarijal (1370m) by private vehicle approximately an hour. Then our first day treks begin toward the uphill by passing several villages, Shivapuri Natural Park wild reserve then gradually we finished our ascent part of trail. And after few hrs of walking on descent tails we arrive in Chisa and it grant you views of different mountains.

Day 04 Chisa Pani - Kutumsang (2,470m)
2nd day we continuous our trek by crossing up and down as well as flat path we reach Gul Bhanjyang.It is village of Sherpa, tamang and gurung. You can see different life style, houses, and views of the different hills so on. Now after crossing few hours of meadow, terrace field gungle.

Day 05: Kutumsang - Thadepati (3430m)
Trail climbs above Kutumsang on a steep, eroded trail mostly through fir and rhododendron forest where there are no permanent settlements. Now you will be in Thadepati from where you can have wonderful sunset and good views down into the Helambu valley and across to Jugal Himal and Numbur Himal ranges in the Solu Khumbu.
 
Day 06: Thadepati - Melamchi (846m)
It takes about four hours. The trail gradually ascends through the enchanting forest enriched with beautiful rhododendron, oak trees. Tharepati is a really good point of view such as Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar, Langshisa, and Jugal so on. From Tharepati the trail gradually descends through the pine and rhododendron forest with great views of the village Helambu.

Day 07: Melamchi – Tarke Ghang
Trek from Tarkeghyang to Shermathang it takes about five hours. You trek on crossing some small streams on the way. There is situated a beautiful village on the half way to Shermathang. Shermathang is another pretty Sherpa village where you can visit many ancient monasteries. There you can see Jugal Himal range at the north face of Shermathang village.

Day 08: Tarke Ghang - sermathang (2621m)
Trek from Tarkeghyang to Shermathang (2621m.) it takes about five hours. This day the trail is quite easier through flat land with beautiful forests on the way. You trek on crossing some small streams on the way. There is situated a beautiful village on the half way to Shermathang. Shermathang is another pretty Sherpa village where you can visit many ancient monasteries. There you can see Jugal Himal range at the north face of Shermathang village.

Day 09: Sermathang to Melamchi Bazaar (850m.)
After breakfast trek to Melamchi it takes approximately five hours. The trail gradually begins descends all the way to Melamchi through meadows and cultivated fields. You might have been across several old villages with their own original tradition.

Day 10: Melamchi Bazaar to Kathmandu (1345m).
Drive from Melamchi Bazaar to Kathmandu it takes about five hours. You travel through gravel and bumpy path and then after you will meet developed road until the Katmandu the capital city of Nepal.

Day 11: Free day in Kathmandu or Depature your next destination
